- The pool area is usually very warm, so make sure to dress appropriately. Nothing is worse than being HOT at a swim meet.
- If the swim meet facility offers a gym to spread out in, bring a foldable chair to sit with your child while he/she is not swimming.
- Help your swimmer be well rested and nutritiously fed.
- Support your swimmer’s efforts by stressing the importance of improving times, not just winning.
- Rinse swim suits with cold water and line dry (do not wring) after each use.
- To insure durability and longevity, you may want your swimmer to wear a team or other specific suit for swim meets only.
- Have him/her use a practice suit for swim practice.
